When the jumping gets extreme....
...the extreme turn Pro!
In 1991 we experimented with the idea of a 2-pin closed single parachute system. In 1997 we revisited the concept as it became apparent that certain BASE jumps required a more securely closed rig.
The primary advantage of a pin-closed BASE rig is a more secure closing. Velcro closed containers can open prematurely if any number of variables are present. For example: If the Velcro is worn beyond it's usable life; If the container is overstuffed or if the shrivel flap is exposed to direct, high - speed airflow. Long freefall delays, wingsuit jumps and aerobatic manuevers are exactly the types of things that can cause a Velcro-closed rig to open prematurely.
The Perigee Pro was the first modern BASE rig to be offered with dual-pin closure and it has evolved into the most refined and sought after rig in the world.
